Samsung Galaxy X1, X1 Plus Foldable Smartphones at MWC 2017

Samsung is long-rumoured to be working on foldable devices. It has filed multiple patents for such devices which excite us to expect some foldable smartphones sooner or later. In the recent development, we learnt that the flexible display to be used on Samsung mobile is supposed to have a mechanical hinge. The Samsung Galaxy X1 and Galaxy X1 Plus are believed to be the first commercial device from the company to feature foldable display. Now, a few reports are claiming that the Galaxy X1 and X1 Plus smartphones could get introduced at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017

As per the listing, the Galaxy X1 will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, whereas the Galaxy X1 Plus will receive Android 7.0 Nougat OS out-of-the-box. The patent filed by Samsung indicates that the Galaxy X series smartphones will come with a flexible or secondary display.

The secondary display means when a user folds his smartphone, a secondary screen appears. According to the patent sketches, the smartphone has a bendable segment in the middle which allows users to bend and fold the device like a flip phone. Furthermore, the patent also revealed that the device will have a physical home button at front and power a volume rockers on the right side.
